Composite/carbon
Review text:
Just like what Vladan said…
The blade has different carbon on each side, providing an interesting experience. It is definitely worth trying out.
One of the best blades I’ve ever tested. It is highly recommended for the modern pips player due to the dual carbon. I personally use ZLC for pips and ALC for smooth. This combination makes pip shots shoot straight as a laser and gives forehand loops the safety and clearance over the table due to the higher arc from the ALC. It pairs well with the Xiom Omega 7 series, but I may test Chinese rubbers in the future.
The blade handle is exceptionally comfortable with minimal vibrations. The blade speed is higher than average but is still very controllable. I had the odd effect of landing every block during my last training session.
First, I play with normal rubber on the forehand and short pips on the backhand. I chose the ZLC side for the forehand and the ALC side for the backhand. And wow, I started to play like never before.
The blade is made for the poly ball only and has almost no vibration. It is very, very consistent. The ZLC side is slower, but if I go off the table, spins go easily. In the short game and blocks, it is very precise. The ALC side is like it was made for short pips. Now I have the ability to attack from 2m off the table, and blocks go so fast.
Dislike: the ALC sounds like the ball is broken every time. Overall, the blade is worth the money I gave.
Good prices! Thanks to Tabletennis11, you make table tennis more affordable.
Good weight balance. The ALC side is comparable to the Butterfly Timo Boll ALC, but a little slower.
Good feeling and feedback are provided when the ball makes contact with the blade. The ZLC side is a bit stiff with less dwell time and feels like a softer Tamca carbon.
More practice time is needed to fully understand the characteristics of the blade. It’s not recommended for beginner and intermediate players.
Overall, the Ice Cream Blade is a good offensive/attacking blade.
This is a really well-made and good quality blade, and the ST handle is the nicest I have ever tried.
However, it is much faster and harder feeling than other Koto blades with either ALC or ZLC as the second layer. I think this is because it is slightly thicker than the advertised 5.7mm, measuring approximately 5.9mm, and the outer Koto layer looks visually thicker.
Since I really like the ZLC side for short pips, I intend to try the blade with a slower rubber than the MX-P max I have on the ALC side, as it is currently faster than I wanted.
This blade is assembled with Tibhar Evolution MX-P and Nittaku Moristo SP rubbers.
The Tibhar Evolution MX-P is on the forehand (A) side, while the Nittaku Moristo SP is on the backhand (Z) side.
I have been using Jun Mizutani ZLC for a long time.
The ZLC on the Ice Cream AZX feels very soft, which is good for control. However, I found it difficult to loop from away from the table.
The ALC side was as expected.
Хорошее основание, интересное. Достаточно жесткое.
Играл с Xiom Omega VII Pro — играет отлично. После перешел на Hurricane 3 Neo Provincial, отличная сила.
Рекомендую.
I played with the Timo Boll Spirit for 2 years and the Timo Boll ALC for 6 years.
The Ice Cream blade is way different than my previous blades. It is stiffer with a hard feel and has a larger sweetspot, meaning flat drives are more forgiving. It’s also comfortable to hold and faster with less vibration.
My Ice Cream blade weighs 88g, while my Timo Boll ALC was 90g. The grip is better, and they really paid attention to details. With Butterfly blades, you need to file the edges on the wing, but on Ice Cream, you can just stick the rubber on and you’re ready to roll. I’m never going to look for a blade faster than Ice Cream AZX. You can play both close to the table or mid-distance. Thanks, tabletennis11! Hello Dimitrij!
Very good blade that I’ve tried so far. I have the Tenergy 05 FX on the ZLC side and the Nittaku Fastarc S-1 on the ALC side.
It has a good feel but is fast on the ZLC side, with a higher arc on the ALC side, but still fast.
So far, I love it except for one thing: the handle is too thin and small, and feels like it might slip out of my hand when I swing. If not for that, I would give it 5 stars instead of 4.
Tried out many different blades (Carbonado 290+145, Boll ALC, Clipper Wood).
Xiom Ice Cream AZX is definitely my favorite blade.
It offers great control, speed, and spin. I could recommend this blade to players who prefer more controlled backhand shots (ZLC) and aggressive power shots with their forehand (ALC).
I love table tennis! It is such a fun and exciting sport. The fast pace and quick reflexes needed make it a thrilling game for players of all skill levels. I highly recommend trying it out if you haven’t already.
The equipment is also relatively affordable compared to other sports, which makes it accessible to a wide range of people. Overall, table tennis is a great way to stay active and have a good time with friends and family.
