The fastest rubber out there, no doubts. However, it lacks a lot of control when blocking.

Okay, I just recently changed my game, including equipment. I use Violin with Bryce Speed for forehand and FX for backhand.

One of the best blocking rubbers out there for those who play close to the table. This is on par with T05 when used for playing close to the table, depending on your game. T05’s higher throw helps with looping close to the table, but the Bryce Speed is more than capable for looping close to the table but has slightly less margin of error.

This is a top-notch quality rubber from Butterfly. In terms of physical appearance, it has a non-tacky, almost non-shiny top sheet and a yellowish sponge. The sponge is medium hard, around 36 degrees.

As a low throw rubber, I tested this with Wang Hao Hurricane by Nittaku as a forehand and Zang Jike as a backhand. My verdict is that BS is perfect for a backhand weapon. The manufacturer rates it as 14.0+ in terms of speed, but I would say it’s closer to 13 to 13.5.

Well…

I’ve been using this for 1 month now.

My TT Gear:

  • BTY Werner Schlager T5000
  • Reactor Thunder (White Sponge)
  • BTY Bryce Speed

My Experience:

  • Chops: You can do it even in unimaginable positions. I’ve done it a lot.
  • Topspin: Definitely fast. Good for near or far from the table.
  • Dropshots: Due to its low throw, it’s a great weapon for dropshots.
  • Smash: Just amazing
  • Loop: A little hard at first, but once you get the hang of it, you’ll soon be killing choppers.
  • Block: EFFORTLESS. Just align your bat with the incoming topspin or loop, and it will be like a counterattack because of its speed.
  • Counter-attacks: Great. Needs good technique.

I have been playing for only a year. I am a chopper now. :)

I started playing with Bryce Speed BH and Speed FX forehand, moving from Tackifire C Soft BH and Donic Desto F3 BS FH on Grubba ALL+. Originally, I ordered a ready-made bat choosing a Primorac OFF- blade, but there was something wrong with it. There was no touch, feel or consistency with my shots and opening the game seemed to be mission impossible.

I took some risks and spent another £50 for Balsa Carbo OFF. Once I put this together, it was a completely different game. The feel was back straight away, blocking was so easy and returning difficult for the opponent, as there was a lot of speed. It took some time to adjust to its speed, but my trainer corrected my mistakes with BH & FH topspin play. Soon it became a weapon that won me six straight wins in the South & West Middlesex TT League 2nd Division against players that I lost to before.

I went to test it out playing for the first team division one and I gave them a hard time over there after just two months of practicing twice a week.

Highly recommended, but don’t hit the panic button if it doesn’t work for you at the first practice session. It needs time, but it’s worth it.

I have T-05 on my backhand and T-05 FX on my forehand with a Butterfly Primorac Blade (OFF Carbon). The T-05 is a great rubber; it’s hard to open up against backspin but good to punch with. After a while, it doesn’t have much spin or control, so I’m going to change it to T-05 FX.

Great rubber for punches, blocks, and smashes.

Loop drives are difficult but deadly when executed correctly.

Not so good for topspins and keeping a rally going.

Need to play against offensive players to get the most out of this rubber because it feeds off power.

Decent Rubber for Backhand

This rubber is surprisingly good for backhand play. It has some similarities to T05FX, which I used with T05 in the past. This combination is excellent because it provides great spin for serves and phenomenal opening shots. Additionally, it offers strong pushes and blocks.

Like anybody else, I am always on the lookout for the best equipment. Everybody knows that Tenergy05 is a force to be reckoned with. So I compared it to Bryce Speed on a Michael Maze blade. I can assure you that this is the best combination, even better than Tenergy05/Tenergy64.

Tenergy offers great spin on serves and amazing loops, while Bryce Speed gives you the ability for fast blocks, counters, and killer smashes. After playing with this rubber, I realized two things. Firstly, you need to be skilled to handle Bryce’s speed as it has a very low recovery time. Secondly, Bryce and Tenergy are fairly equally matched. If your game is spin-based, Tenergy05 is your rubber, but if you want speed, look no further. Bryce Speed is the fastest rubber ever. I have compared many rubbers and wasted my own money to give you the best advice.

My personal favorite is Bryce Speed.

P.S. Bryce Speed is a whole lot faster than Tenergy64.

Very good quality rubber.

Nice feeling. Great topspin and speed. Good control.

We compared this rubber to Sriver, and it wasn’t even close. This rubber is much, much better.

#12 — February 2010

This is a great forehand loop rubber. It is very fast, which means it offers less control.

#13 — January 2010

I have this on my tri-carbon forehand blade, and it really brings out the speed. Great for attacks and blocks, and if you’re fast enough, you can get good spin.

I had this rubber in a Cypress Alpha. It is great for hitting and blocking, but it is very hard to open the point with a soft loop. This rubber is made to kill the point, not to start slow when you are not certain that you will hit the table with a winner.

It has reasonable spin when you serve, but you lose spin when you shorten the serve (softer touch with less speed). Control is excellent in all shots and the rubber is not hard. You have a lot of rebound with this rubber, so even when defending, your returns are fast.

The rubber started softer and spinier, but after 2 months I felt it losing spin and getting harder. Overall, it’s a good rubber.

#15 — November 2009

Pros: Fast with good feel, leading to consistency.

Cons: The ball is very hittable; a skilled opponent will have no problem returning it, as speed alone does not generate spin.

I tested this rubber on various blades, including the JM ZLC, Timo ALC, Maze ALC, Kong Special, Yasaka Yeo, Nittaku Novilar, Senko 90, and many others. I found that it performed best when paired with a Hinoki blade, which enhanced its liveliness.

Bryce Speed: A Lightning-Fast Inverted Rubber

Bryce Speed is the epitome of speed among inverted rubbers. Its immense speed may require an adjustment period initially. However, once players adapt to its rapid pace and reduced dwell time, it transforms into a formidable offensive weapon.

Blocking and pushing are made effortless with Bryce Speed. The rubber’s responsiveness allows for precise control and instant returns. However, when executing cuts or chops, meticulous technique becomes paramount. Deviations from proper form will be mercilessly exposed with this unforgiving rubber.

#17 — September 2009

This rubber is incredibly fast, making it one of the quickest options available on the market.

#18 — April 2008

Rather hard rubber. You need quick arm speed for this rubber to work for you completely. Yes, it plays well when you hit hard, but this also requires you to recover faster.

The most difficult shot to perform with this rubber is a high-arc opening loop that is loaded with topspin. The dwell time is low on soft shots.

#19 — March 2008

Amazing rubber!

Very fast, also very nice control. If you want to play fast, this is an excellent choice!

Way too fast for me using speed glue!

If the price weren’t skyhigh, I would keep using this rubber in fh.
