“An OFF+ blade with many gears”

Feeling wise, I don’t think that the blade is more bouncy than hard wood blade such as Intensity or YEO. The blade is very stable on block and the speed of the block is very controllable just like ALL+ to OFF- blade. However, the rating is correctly stated as OFF+ when looping or hitting. The blade can generate more power to any distance from the table. Beware that for the close-to table looping, the blade angle has to be much closer comparing to 5-plys blade or the ball will definitely fly off the table.

The blade feels not so hard on lower gear and hard on higher gear, but you get enough flex for looping. Although the blade is much thinner than my YEO, the weight of the blade limits the choice of rubber. I think the blade is best paired with medium to medium-soft rubbers. For reference, I use Yasaka Shinning Dragon max on the FH side and Stiga Mendo 2.0 on the BH.

This blade is exceptionally reliable. Upon close inspection, there are no discernible weaknesses to be found.

Very good blade and good looking too. I really like this blade, but I had to replace it due to its head size, which is smaller than normal.

#4 — October 2014

This is truly an awesome blade. It’s lightweight and has a good balance, which allowed me to play with more control and spin. I was consistently able to place the ball where I wanted it, and I felt like I had more power behind my shots. With exceptional speed, I could easily hit the ball faster, which kept my opponents on their toes. I also noticed a significant improvement in my spin game. I was able to generate more spin on the ball, which gave me an advantage in rallies. The blade’s slightly larger head size also provided me with a larger sweet spot, allowing for more consistent play. Overall, I’m extremely impressed with this blade and would highly recommend it to any player looking to improve their game.

I don’t think this is the fastest blade out there, but that’s not a bad thing. What this is is the most playable blade out there. This has the perfect feel, where I can tell exactly what the ball is doing on the rubber. Fantastic for loops, smashes, and touch. Don’t listen to mtg679; some people need to buy a brand name so they can identify themselves with others. I have tried many $200+ blades, and this is my choice. If this blade had a Butterfly label and price tag of $300, many Butterfly enthusiasts would say this is the best Butterfly ever.

Don’t let weight fool you. When I weighed my blade and saw 99gms, I said uh-oh. But when I play with it, it’s never been an issue. Great balance.

This blade is an excellent choice for beginners looking to develop their technique and control. The blade’s design allows for precise shots and consistent ball placement. However, it may not meet the requirements of advanced players who require more speed and control for competitive play.

When compared to premium brands like Butterfly, Xiom, and DHS, this blade falls short in terms of speed and control. It is more suitable for recreational players or those just starting out in table tennis.

My c-pen Hybrid Wood is a very powerful all-wood blade. It has less of a woody feel than my Avalox BT777. The high-quality blade is factory pre-sealed with NCT. Simply amazing.

Blade Review

This blade is amazing! It’s a great choice for players of all levels, from beginners to professionals. It’s well-balanced and has a good feel in the hand. The blade is made of high-quality materials and is very durable.

The blade is also very versatile and can be used with a variety of different playing styles. It’s a great choice for both offensive and defensive players. The blade is also very forgiving, making it a good choice for players who are still learning the game.

Overall, this is a great blade that I would highly recommend to any player. It’s a great value for the price and is sure to improve your game.

I’m using this with the Chinese penhold handle. It is very fast but maintains excellent control. It is stiff and hard, but not excessively so. I have tried it with various rubbers, and it feels pretty good with almost all levels of hardness, even though I like medium rubbers on it.

There are only two negatives:

One is the price, which I personally don’t think is a big issue. After all, you don’t have to replace it as often as you do with your rubbers.

The weight can be more problematic. Stiga rates it at 95 grams, but most of the ones I’ve heard about are closer to 100 grams. I specifically asked my retailer to get Stiga to send the lightest one they had in stock and got a 93-gram blade. It’s not terrible, but don’t expect it to get any lighter.

UPDATE: After having some trouble with the head-heavy feel I got with the heavier rubbers, I have now found a combo that is lightweight and balanced enough but also fast and spinny enough to really make the blade shine (Haifu Whale II National - red sponge on FH and Yasaka Rakza 7 Soft on BH). As a result, I’ve learned to love the blade even more.

However, it does show that the weight can be a problem and may limit your choice of rubbers somewhat. I’m not sure if you’ll like it if you put a pair of Tenergy 05’s or something similar on it.

It has very good looping ability, you can loop the ball very easily. I personally prefer playing medium-hard rubbers on it, as soft rubbers are not as effective. It plays much better with harder rubbers, especially Chinese rubbers. You can literally do everything with this blade, it’s truly amazing.

#11 — May 2012

It’s an amazing blade, offering an excellent balance between speed and control. I have equipped it with Yasaka Rakza 7 on the forehand side and Butterfly Sriver on the backhand side. With this setup, I’ve found that it synergizes very well, enhancing the effective power.

#12 — April 2012

True hybrid monster! It can be used with a soft and short game, and it is also very good in hard playing with power and speed strokes at any distance. Suitable with medium-soft or soft sponge rubbers. Very nice, Stiga!!!

#13 — April 2012

Overall, the blade is an excellent choice for both beginner and intermediate players who seek a balanced mixture of speed, control, and spin. It provides a great foundation for developing your table tennis skills and allows you to execute a wide range of shots with confidence. The blade’s construction and design contribute to its durability and comfort, making it a joy to play with for extended periods.

However, it’s important to note that the blade may not be the best option for advanced players who demand exceptional speed or control. Additionally, the weight of the blade can be a drawback for some players who prefer a lighter setup.

Overall, the blade offers a compelling balance of attributes that make it an attractive choice for the majority of players, particularly those looking to develop their technique and elevate their game. If you’re seeking a blade that combines versatility, reliability, and performance, it’s a worthy consideration.

If you have further questions or require additional information, please don’t hesitate to ask. I’d be happy to assist in any way I can.

This blade is excellent in every aspect. It offers great control and speed. It allows for a wide range of gears, enabling players to comfortably play short, middle, and long distances from the table with excellent stability and power. I used it with Stiga Boost TS on my forehand and Yasaka Rakza 7 on my backhand. It’s an exceptional blade.

#15 — April 2012

The special things are:

- Stability play in every distance. — Very nice control for an off+ fast blade.

#16 — April 2012

The Stiga blade is an off+ blade with a lot of control. It can be used for playing in near, middle, or long distances, depending on the type of rubbers paired with it. Good job, Stiga!

#17 — April 2012

Better than rosewood and Ebenholz I feel so far…my friend whom played with Rosewood VII wanted to barter with my Hybridwood, I said NO of course! Although this one is cheaper, it is the greatest blade I ever had. Hahahaha…

#18 — April 2012

The price is now about 150US$. My friend just bought it, and regarding the high quality, it is worth it. The quality is better than other expensive blades.

After two months, I changed my old blade with this blade and my rubbers with Almana Sound Green cover. My coach said that my plays are getting great! Now, I’m ready to join the local tournament in my country. This blade has made me confident again. Thanks a lot, Stiga!

#20 — April 2012

The Great HiTech blade is a charming-looking one with impressive control and speed. I paired it with AlmanaSound on both my forehand and backhand, and the combination was wonderful, significantly improving my game. I am a huge fan of Stiga!

#21 — April 2012

Very excellent in speed and control maintaining!!! Played with Rakza7 on FH and FocusIIIsnipe on BH is very outstanding; all kinds of stroke can be done easily…short, near, middle, and long-distance game is great. 10/10 from me for this monster! Thanks, Stiga, for the latest nano tech.

#22 — April 2012

This blade is rated off to off+. I used it with Rakza7 and had an offensive feeling with very good control. Lately, I used it with T Energy05… Wow! It’s more dangerous on spins, still with great control. My opponent suffered, it was so outstanding! I love it very much!

#23 — April 2012

This blade is really fast, but if you use the right rubbers on it, it will give you more control and become a good weapon for you. I have been using this blade since August 18, 2008, and for the past two years, I have been using DONIC “Acuda S1” for forehand and DONIC “Coppa X1 (Gold)” for backhand. It has really helped me a lot.

Very good in control in a speed blade, although not as speedy as, for example, Sardius, it can make up for it with your plays getting better and better. I’m using it with OptimumMP rubber… it’s a very excellent combination!

#26 — April 2012

Very excellent blade… suitable for off to off+ players. Just maintain it and combine it with match rubbers to fit your playing style. Use off rubbers for off-typical players such as the Sriver series. Use high spin and spin for all-out attackers such as T Energy… it’s perfect!

#27 — April 2012

Fabulous…Stiga’s latest high-technology nano makes a perfect combination among speed and control. The blade is fast without losing control in my touch style, making every stroke and punch great. With Stiga Boost TC on both the forehand and backhand sides, everything becomes possible to play. Now, I’m better and better in plays…

#28 — April 2012

What a blade! Very sensational! It offers a very good combination with soft or medium-soft sponge rubbers. I used this blade with Stiga Boost TX on both sides, forehand and backhand (Butterfly water check). Every touch feels great, increasing my plays by over 35%! I believe this is one of Stiga’s best blades.

#29 — June 2011

First of all, this is one of the best-looking blades of all time. I use Xiom Vega Pro on the forehand and Vega Europe on the backhand. It has a large head, and it is relatively heavy. Mine was over 95 grams. Besides, the handle of the blade is too light for the head part, I guess. That’s why I downsized the head part of the blade using sandpaper. My blade feels more balanced for me now.

It has a large sweet spot, and the control is awesome. I use max rubbers on both sides. The best part of the blade is that it absorbs all the vibrations. That was my biggest problem with my previous blade.

#30 — May 2011

Is a perfect weapon. 95g is heavy, but very consistent and powerful. You can control and guide the ball easily, vibration free without losing the feel, which is strange because it is really fast and controlled at the same time.

You can smash hard from close to very far from the table. You will need time to get out all its potential and love it. This is not for beginners.

Perfect combination with all Stiga boost (best TX), calibra LT and sound, Magna II TC and Joola Phenyx (amazing combo, little heavy but wonderful).

#31 — February 2011

This is the fastest blade I have played with. I played with this with Tenergy 05 on both sides, and in the right hands, this is a match made in heaven!

#32 — November 2010

I think Schlager is faster and heavier than Hybrid Wood.

#33 — November 2010

This amazing blade offers great control and good speed.

#34 — August 2010

Mine is 92g. Forehand Bryce Speed FX 2.1mm, Backhand Roxon 450 2.0mm.

Control is amazing, but when hitting hard, it is very powerful. Perfect Cpen weapon for powerful forehand game and some rpb. With Roxon 450, my rpb hitting is accurate and powerful too.

#35 — March 2010

If you don’t mind the weight (mine was 99g), this blade is excellent. This would definitely be my dream blade if it was 20g lighter. Feedback, dwell time, control, and speed are all in perfect harmony to my taste at least.

This blade is rated 95g by Stiga, but mine was 4g heavier. This is not as fast as BTY Maze or Donic Waldner Black Devil, maybe closer to Yasaka Ma Lin Extra Off. This has also less dwell time than Maze, but more than Black Devil.

Sweet spot is very large, control is great, handle feels very good (FL) and I have had no problems with warping like there has reportedly been with Ebenholz NCT VII.

#36 — February 2010

Absolutely amazing blade. I’ve been using it for a year now and have learned to love every inch of it.

Blade Type: ALL+/OFF-

Construction: 7-ply Hinoki with Limba outer plies

Weight: 89g

Thickness: 5.8mm

Handle: FL, ST

Speed: 9.4/10

Control: 8.7/10

Spin: 8.6/10

Review:

The Yasaka Extra is a fast and powerful blade that provides excellent control and spin. It is made of 7-ply Hinoki wood with Limba outer plies, which gives it a stiff and responsive feel. The blade is slightly head-heavy, which helps to generate power and spin.

The Extra is a good choice for players who are looking for an offensive blade that is still controllable. It is also a good option for players who are transitioning from an ALL+ blade to an OFF- blade.

While the Extra is a fast blade, it is not as fast as some of the other blades in the OFF- category. This makes it a good choice for players who are looking for a blade that is fast but not too fast.

Overall, the Yasaka Extra is a great choice for players who are looking for an offensive blade that provides excellent control and spin.
