I really like this blade, specifically for its low throw angle and good precision. Coming from the Korbel, it feels pretty controllable. However, it definitely has much more power than the Korbel.

Excellent blade for heavy loops. Great speed and spin to overwhelm your opponent. Best part is the unmatched feeling of control and confidence on your shots.

Actually using the cpen handle. I was using a 5-ply wood blade before this one (Stiga Emerald VPS V). This blade offers a significant upgrade in terms of speed. Close-table bananas and counter backhands feel fantastic.

However, the blade performs best when used at mid-far distances, at least for my playstyle. It’s not too heavy nor too light (mine weighs 86g). The vibration is low, especially for an ALC blade, providing just enough feedback to feel the ball.

The blade produces a low trajectory and a somewhat flat ball feel. If you desire significant spin, you’ll need to commit, as it requires activation of the ALC layer. Overall, I believe I made a wise choice considering the price.

The outer ply surface is limba, which produces nice spin and angles. The blade is easy to use, fast, and provides good control. It performs exceptionally well with Chinese rubbers.

UPDATE: You can feel vibrations when using this blade.

QUALITY AND PRICE ;).

The performance of this blade is great, but the quality is not as impressive. The blade is particularly well-suited for mid-range looping, but its bounciness can make close-to-table looping more challenging.

Butterfly Timo Boll ALC

The Butterfly Timo Boll ALC is a 5-ply all-wood blade that is designed for offensive players. The blade is made from limba, ayous, and carbon, and it has a limba outer ply. The ALC in the blade’s name stands for “Arylate-Carbon,” which is a type of carbon fiber that is used to reinforce the blade.

This blade is very fast, and it produces a lot of spin. The limba outer ply gives the blade a soft feel, and the carbon fiber reinforcement gives it a lot of power. The blade is also very well-balanced, and it feels very comfortable in the hand.

What a blade! Combine it with DHS Gold Arc 8 Max thickness (FH) and Andro Rasant 2.15mm (BH) and create a legendary combo. Control and speed are incredible with very good spin. My play has leveled up significantly in a day. The blade’s specifics are very similar to the Ma Long 5. Check and compare them yourself. The only difference is that it is 1/4th of the price. The handle could be a problem for those with large hands. I have used overgrip to solve this problem. Highly recommended.

Její střední tvrdost, rychlost a citlivost z ní činí dobrou volbu pro hráče, kteří chtějí generovat rotaci a zároveň udržovat kontrolu nad míčem.

I used this acrylate-carbon blade in CPH for a few months. Normally, I use Bty. Taksim, so I’m still getting used to it. I put TSP/Victas 01, softer sponge rubbers on it.

The sound is very loud as a hard blade. Serving and control are good, but looping topspin, hitting, and blocking need a bit of adjustment. This is not a blade for beginners. It has a nice style, a bigger head size than Bty., and is good for 40+ balls. It is called the little brother of Ma Long 5. For the price, it is definitely worth a try!

The blade is almost hard with less flexibility. It is too strong, making it not easy to control. Senior players may appreciate it. Alternatively, it is suitable for frequent trainers. However, I gave up due to the difficulty of checking the ball.

I really like this blade. It’s my first carbon blade, coming from a Mizuno Fortius FT, which is a 7-ply, fairly stiff wood blade. It has great touch in the short game and feels like a wood blade.

Mid-distance shots were initially challenging as the carbon would activate, causing shots to go long. However, after a little adjustment time, this became much easier. Away from the table, the blade is awesome, great for generating topspin and with more than enough power.

I wish it had a little more flex like the Hurricane 301. To be honest, I got this blade because the 301 wasn’t available at the time. For the money, though, it’s pretty great.

Review text:

Using this blade paired with Tibhar EL-S (FH) and Stiga Airoc S (BH), it performs well in almost all categories. The blade is hard and pairs better with medium to medium-soft rubbers. Your technique needs to be sound to pair hard rubbers with it. Even with medium hard EL-S, it sometimes goes long.

If anyone wants to upgrade to carbon for the first time from an all-wood blade, they can easily choose this one as it feels almost like an all-wood blade. Other reputable brands with similar blades are significantly more expensive. This blade is the best in its price segment.

Firstly, this blade excels in control, blocking, and even speed. However, the handle and lower part of the blade are lacking. It would be significantly improved with a handle similar to the Stiga Infinity or Butterfly Viscaria.

Despite its advantages, the blade can be unforgiving in serious play. Sometimes, I have difficulty lifting the ball on both the backhand and forehand.

I am currently using DHS Skyline 3 Neo on the forehand and DHS Hurricane 8 on the backhand. I sanded the outer part near the handle for better accuracy, similar to the Butterfly Viscaria. This reduced the weight, which is not a problem. I hope DHS improves the handle in the future for serious players.

The blade allows for a wide range of shots. I can slow down the ball or smash it hard. The throw level is high, but flicks can be challenging due to the handle; the ball tends to go into the net or out.

Compared to other blades in the Arylate Carbon series, this blade is relatively inexpensive. With a better handle, I would rate it 10 out of 10. Overall, it is a decent blade that could be improved with a few adjustments.

It’s a very decent blade for beginners like my friend Richard. Highly recommended.

This blade is adequate, especially for close and mid play. I enjoy using it in all aspects. My previous blade, the DHS Wind CW-C, was very heavy, which was beneficial for finishing points during smashes. The feel of this blade is somewhat similar to my Yasaka Malin. Blocking with this blade is exceptional.

I have heard from others that the Hurricane Long 5 and the Fan Bo 2 carbon are nearly identical, with the exception of a minor difference in size. I opted for the Fan Bo 2 because it is more affordable than the Hurricane Long 5. I believe that even beginners could use this blade, as it promotes good technique and accuracy. It has a thickness of 5.9 mm, making it thinner than my previous blades. Additionally, this blade is highly responsive when receiving tricky serves and chops. For close to mid play, this blade is relentless. It is also effective from long distances, provided the player has good footwork. I am currently using DHS Hurricane 8 on the forehand and DHS Tin Arc 5 on the backhand. Give this blade a try, and it may bring good fortune your way. It is an affordable and highly responsive option.

Great blade with great control and feeling, and really good speed. I was afraid that it being a carbon blade it’ll be too stiff, but that is not the case. It’s perfectly good for looping, smashing and short game is really great too. Exceeded my expectations!! I’m using Mark V on both sides. It’s a good blade at very low price compared to other ALC blades and is definitely worth more than what it costs.

Doesn’t have a lot of inner carbon characteristics. It has a very muted feeling and is stiff. However, it provides very good spin and speed.
