I have used this blade, but it fell short of my expectations. The performance was different from what I had been led to believe. I am also perplexed by the positive reviews this blade has received.

Out of the numerous blades Donic produces, the ones I genuinely admire are the Donic Waldner World Champinon 89 and the Donic Li Ping Kitex.

6.3mm thickness, 80g weight, large head size, comfortable FL grip, good quality, medium soft, low flex, fast speed, nice feel, relative control, low vibration, large sweet spot, consistency, thick hinoki construction, carbon, very good with golden tango ps hybrid tires, donic r1.

6.3mm thickness provides good stability and control. 80g weight is lightweight and easy to handle. Large head size offers a wider hitting area. Comfortable FL grip ensures a secure and ergonomic hold. Good quality materials guarantee durability and performance. Medium soft feel provides a balanced combination of touch and power. Low flex allows for precise ball placement. Fast speed enables quick and aggressive shots. Nice feel offers excellent feedback and control. Relative control allows for consistent and accurate shots. Low vibration reduces hand fatigue during extended play. Large sweet spot provides a wide range of effective hitting areas. Consistency ensures reliable performance shot after shot. Thick hinoki construction contributes to the blade’s overall strength and stiffness. Carbon layers enhance speed and power. Pairs very well with Golden Tango PS Hybrid tires and Donic R1 rubbers.

A very light and fast blade with good control. Forehand and Backhand Fast, strong and with a lot of effect. I use an MX-P on the Backhand and a Donic Barracuda on the Forehand and I think the blade and these rubbers get along really well. I could trade an MX-P for a Rakza 7 or Rakza 7 Soft, and a Barracuda for an Andro Rasanter.

The blade is versatile and enjoyable to play with, provided proper technique is employed. Weighing 86 grams, it reaches 198 grams with rubber and side tape, ideal for modern gameplay. Paired with Donic Bluestorm Z1 Turbo (Max) and Tibhar Evolution MX-P 50 (Max), the rubbers feel less firm than expected. Blocking is effortless, and ball placement is intuitive. It excels in counterattacking and can adapt to both slow and fast-paced games. Power and speed are accessible when needed, and the sound is pleasing. The flared (concave) handle is exceptionally comfortable and smooth, with an attractive design and craftsmanship. This blade ranks among my favorites, alongside the Donic Waldner World Champion '89 inner-fiber blade. Both are excellent choices for modern table tennis. Tabletennis11 offers competitive pricing, quality packaging, and prompt delivery.

A very good blade with great feeling and spin. It is the best choice for my attacking game.

Very fast, good control, almost stiff

Great blade for topspin play. The hard surface provides stability, while some flex makes looping more comfortable. It offers a good feeling when blocking. For optimal performance, I pair it with Vega Pro (FH) and Rigan (BH), creating an excellent combination.

This blade is AMAZING! It’s been a long time that I’ve been looking for a blade that is like a Gergely Classic black tag. Finally, I found it! Feels like Gergely Classic black tag but with more control.

The thing is, this is much cheaper than the cheapest Butterfly carbon blade, half the price cheaper. Must have blade.

Compared to the Ovtcharov Carbospeed, which I used to play with, the Legend Carbon has a similar construction but a reduced thickness of 6.2-6.3mm, while the Carbospeed is 6.7-6.8mm (Primorac Carbon: 6.9mm). This slight reduction in thickness results in a decrease in both speed and stiffness.

However, the Legend Carbon offers a crisp feel of the carbon layer upon ball impact. Especially when hitting harder, I experience a longer dwell time, which allows me to generate more spin.

If you possess good attacking control, accuracy, and timing, the Waldner Legend Carbon is an excellent choice. It excels in low-arc topspin drives, passive quick returns, and devastating smashes. Additionally, short quick loop counterattacks are effortless with this blade. It also handles short pushes effectively.

I have paired it with Donic Bluestorm Z2 rubbers, which provide a safe and controlled setup with a total weight of around 183g. I do not recommend using overly soft sponges, as this will compromise speed and spin due to the reduced dwell time. Grammatical adjustments were made to improve clarity and readability.

Great blade for aggressive players. Even with harder rubbers such as Donic’s Acuda Blue P1 Turbo, I can slow loop, push the ball short, block with a lot of pace and also finish the point with amazing speed.

Requires good technique tho, still struggling a bit sometimes.

Lightweight.

Once you get the hang of it, the ball goes wherever you want it to go, superb control for such a fast blade!

The best looping blade in the market! I used Butterfly Mazunov in the past and I’m finding for a looping blade with consistency and this blade never failed me. It has a wide head that is capable of putting a lot of spin in the ball causing extreme difficulties for the opponent. I didn’t adjust too much. I recommend this blade from beginners to pros who require control, speed, and spin!

Can’t believe Waldner would give his blessing to this fast blade. Only soft sponge rubbers should be used. I tried Tenergy 80FX on FH. Thought it was going to be too fast, but not really. Very easy to do slow loops and loop drives. On BH, I used Stiga Calibra LT Spin. Nice control. The hinoki allowed me to feel the ball in my shots. The FL handle is of medium size and very comfortable. Push shots were nothing special.

Overall, this is a decent blade with a large head size. Thus, it has a large sweet spot and provides great control. As a result, it is a fun blade to play with.

A very good blade, especially for the price.

Good speed, nice hinoki feeling, and good arc.

The dwell time could be better, as well as the control on passive shots.

Overall, a nice offensive blade.

This blade has to be rated with a big 10 in each aspect including the speed, control, and sufficient dwell time. However, it is not suitable for hard sponge rubbers; only medium and medium-soft sponge rubbers are suitable. The Donic blade is almost identical to the Bty Primorac and the old version of the Bty Gergely. Bravo, Donic!

Very skeptical before the purchase! Really surprised during the first test! Absolutely convinced of this amazing blade! Control and feel are outstanding! Speed is sufficient for an off blade! Definitely my final setup associated with soft rubbers! A must-have Donic product!

Really very good job by Donic.

It is made out of hinoki plies and one ply of carbon.

It offers very good control and is suitable for hitting, blocking, and looping.

To me, it has a very nice feel and provides the same quality as the Primorac Carbon at a lower price.

Overall, it is a very good blade.

#19 — December 2012

Really nice blade from Donic’s 2012 range. It features a soft core, carbon, and quite thick outer plies of hinoki. The wood and build quality are incredible for the price, easily matching Butterfly blades despite being only 1/3 of the cost.

However, it is not as fast as Donic advertises. It is a very reliable blade with a linear feel, but it has a slight flex at the very top end for powerful swings far from the table.

Short game control is excellent, looping is excellent, blocking is good, and hitting is good. No real drawbacks, so if you prefer hinoki-topped blades, you’ll be very satisfied.
