I acknowledge that my ratings may be somewhat inflated, but I believe the average ratings provided are significantly undervalued and, frankly, a mockery of the products’ true capabilities.
Spin: Vega Pro < Evolution MX-P < Tenergy 80 < Vega X < Evolution MX-S < Tenergy 05
Speed: Vega Pro < Evolution MX-S < Vega X = Tenergy 05 < Tenergy 80 < Evolution MX-P
Vega X demonstrates superior spin characteristics compared to Vega Pro and even surpasses Tenergy 80 in this regard. Its spin capabilities are nearly on par with Tenergy 05, but it does not quite match the latter’s unmatched level of spin.
In terms of speed, Vega X ranks similarly to Tenergy 05, with a slight edge in terms of catapult effect. This enhanced catapult effect facilitates easier generation of high-tempo shots, although the ultimate maximum speed achieved is comparable to Tenergy 05. It’s possible that Vega X may exhibit a marginally higher top speed, but the difference is negligible.
I use this rubber on my backhand for my Timo Boll ZLC, and it is my favorite rubber to date. The block and counter from my backhand have progressed a lot, and I believe I can do much more with it. The control is good enough for me.
At a dealer I trust, this rubber is specified with a sponge hardness of 47 degrees. The total hardness should be 56.9 degrees, which is relatively high. However, I do not believe that, because I feel that it is much softer. Other rubbers with a 47.5 degree sponge, such as a DHS Gold Arc 5, a Nittaku Fast Arc G-1, or a Tibhar Genius with a total hardness of 53.3 degrees, appear clearly harder.
Facts: my black rubber, with 1.8 mm sponge thickness, weighs packed 97 g. The uncut weight is 67 g, and after cutting it on my blade, it weighs 47 g (157 x 150 mm).
What strikes me immediately about this rubber (in contrast to my other rubbers with 47.5 degree sponge) is the fact that this rubber delivers considerably more catapult and speed. As far as the level of rotation is concerned, it is certainly on a similar level to a Fastarc G-1, Genius or Donic Barracuda. (In my opinion, it is just like the much softer Andro “Grip or Powergrip SFX”!)
Conclusion: in addition to the Gold Arc 5 (with 47.5 degree sponge, which is not really comparable and only has a reasonable price on AliExpress), the Vega X Ten is also a great value for money and an absolute top rubber.
Oh, hallelujah! I’ve found the perfect rubber for me.
It works wonderfully on both the forehand and backhand, but I prefer using it on the backhand because it enhances the way I block. It performs like an anti-spin rubber, but with the speed and appearance of a tensor spring rubber. The control and speed are exceptional.
This rubber is a more affordable yet identical version of the Dignics 05, with the advantage of being less sensitive to spin. It’s suitable for players of all levels, and its attractive price makes it an excellent choice.
Enjoy playing with this rubber, trouble your opponents, and keep on enjoying table tennis!
Very good modern rubber from Xiom. It’s my favorite brand, and I know Vega Intro, Europe, Europe DF, Pro, Asia, and Omega V Euro. Vega X is the best quality rubber of the Vega version.
Spin is crazy; topspin is easy, and blocking is easy and very effective. When you block with Vega X, your opponent receives the same ball that he sent. This is really disturbing if you counter-attack and work the ball placement when you block.
The only negative side is that you have to be “perfect” like the rubber. If you are not at 100% with your technique, you will miss all your shots. This rubber is really spin-sensitive. When your opponent serves with a lot of spin, you will “eat” the spin.
I’m not good enough to keep this rubber on my favorite blade, so I’ve glued it on a slower blade, and I’m very satisfied because that rubber is very nice on All+ or Off- blades. Control is better, and attack capabilities are excellent. You can even backspin easily on slow blades with Vega X.
If you are a good amateur or more and a pure attacker, try it on a carbon blade, and you will have something very deadly for $30.
Right now I have Vega X and Vega Pro max both on my racket.
I play Vega X on my backhand (my stronger side) and score so much with it! To me, Vega X is a little more bouncy and Vega Pro is a bit safer. Vega X is better if you take the ball early. With Vega Pro, it is quite a bit easier for me to serve long and fast or very short precisely.
I overshoot a little more when I use Vega X on my forehand.
Plays like Vega Pro, but with more control, similar to Vega Europe Control.
Good rubber, Well done XIOM!
Update 04.2022:
I think Vega Pro has more spin potential than VX on loops. Short play spin could be the same. Vega X is less incoming spin sensitive.
Speed is about the same.
Durability VX is better, as still all is shiny.
Very good forehand rubber! I used to use Omega 7 Pro on the forehand, but I struggled with the slow spinny opening loops. Omega 7 Pro is a “kill or be killed” type of rubber.
Vega X has a higher arc, generally slower speed (not much), and less spin, but much more control. If I were a competitive player, I would definitely choose Omega 7 Pro. However, for a hobby weekend-to-weekend game, Vega X is the right choice because of its ease of play.
Currently, I am seeking less spin-sensitive rubbers for my FH and stumbled upon this one. Some claim it’s an upgrade to the Vega Pro. Typically, I utilize modern looping/attacking rubbers on my FH (e.g., M1, Omega V PRO, MX-P). However, I desired equipment that was less spin-sensitive and more forgiving.
This rubber features a soft upper layer that absorbs the ball, facilitating prolonged contact during your hit. However, once the sponge is engaged, it generates explosive power. This rubber is fast. Its general trajectory is flat, consistently clearing the net, eliminating the need for technique adjustments when transitioning from the M1. During looping, the trajectory can become very high.
This is a highly stable rubber, ideal for FH. When cut down to standard Butterfly head size, it weighs 53 g. Compared to modern tensors, it lacks exceptional spin potential, offering only decent levels. Conversely, this rubber instills confidence, providing immense controlled speed and resistance to incoming spin. If your style involves (fast) looping, counter-looping, and rapidly neutralizing your opponent’s shots, this rubber will aid you in achieving those goals. Its price point is favorable, and its durability is commendable. While it may not be universally recommended for professional players due to its subdued spin capabilities, intermediate players should consider it if it aligns with their playing style.
I use VX black sheet max on my FH. Speed is equal to Vega Pro (OFF), but VX has more spin. It is suitable for developing players who want to improve their stroke. Overall, VX is a good rubber in the €33 (TT11) price range.
*I paired VX with TB ZLF blade.
First day having XIOM Vega X. (i change from Omega 7 Pro)
Overall experience compare to Omega 7 Pro, significantly is heavier (entire movement speed slower).
But they stroke improve a lot. Accuracy improve a lot. Spinny more or less compare O7P.
Very fast speed, and tacky.
Overall is a good rubber with this price point, easy to use. not require high skill to control the rubber.
*DSH 301 blade…
I use Vega X max on my forehand and paired it with a carbon blade. VX is very fast on a carbon blade. VX has a better grip and more spin than Vega Pro. My opponent has trouble blocking my topspin.
Short game is good but Vega Pro is better because VP is less spin sensitive and has less catapult. Overall, a good off rubber with good control and definitely an upgrade to VP.
我用它甚至比某些粘性套胶还能挂住球,摩擦性十足。这个动态摩擦技术确实有点东西。
Not the fastest, not the spiniest, but a great rubber to keep the rally going.
It’s an amazing rubber, max speed, max spin, good control, and to finish the cake a very good price. If you want crazy speed put on a carbon blade in Max thickness, if you want more control and stability put on a pure wood or inner carbon in 2.0 mm. It’s amazing, the versatility of this rubber doesn’t have any limits. Try to cut oversized because it’s a tuning factory rubber and usually shrinks a little after one or two weeks. Academia de tenis de mesa “Ciudad Ojeda”, Venezuela.
This is my favorite rubber. The topsheet is super grippy and the throw angle is medium, which makes opening easy, but not so high that I overshoot often. The speed is linear, which makes the short game simple, but drives have a lot of punch. Very confidence-inspiring, but will feel bouncy for new players without good touch. It is about 71 grams (uncut) at 2.0 thickness, so without a well-balanced blade, it will be tough to get used to.
Balanced rubber, not too sticky but still allows you to spin the ball like crazy. It’s bouncy for me, but I like it. It took some time for me to adjust.
Best rubber I have played with so far.
I mostly used it on the forehand, but this rubber is good for backhand as well.
Very balanced rubber, forgiving yet decent speed.
Highly recommended.
I had difficulty adjusting to this rubber as a beginner coming from a non-tensor rubber. It feels like it has a significantly more trampoline effect than the Vega Pro.

They work extremely well: it’s the perfect combination of power and control for me.
The most balanced and user-friendly rubber comes from Xiom. Everything is excellent: grip and speed.
Easy to use. More for rally play as it’s difficult to hit a straight winner. The topsheet is basically immortal while the sponge becomes gradually softer over time until it easily bottoms out. Once you click into the rubber, you rarely ever miss the table. Feels heavenly on a thick hinoki blade.
Fast and bouncy, it really grabs the ball with the proper technique. Beginners might have some troubles handling the bounciness.
I play almost every day for a couple of hours. Amultart ZLC is a fast blade and I struggled for some time with Gewo to control this rubber. After Gewo fell apart quite fast I got Xiom. What can I say: now it’s so much easier to control the ball, good spin. In regards to speed with my setup it’s almost perfect. I wish the catapult effect would be just a bit more present, because one must sweat to send a fast ball. Well, that’s what we are playing for. After a couple of months it looks and feels firm and solid. For this price? Unbeatable rubber.
As far as TT11 service - couldn’t be better.
Fastest Xiom rubber I’ve used. Very good control. I really like it.
Bought this rubber with a discount and I have to say, a pretty good deal. I use it as a training rubber on an old Xiom Vega Europe blade, and it’s spinny, pretty fast (bit slower than Omega V rubbers), and very controllable.
So, positively surprised!
I have Vega X on Viscaria blade for both FH and BH. Compared with Vega Pro and Vega Japan, which I had for FH and BH before, Vega X is a bit harder and faster, and I can add more spin to the ball. It is a great rubber at this price.
Great rubber for those who hit through the ball and brush. Sponge mechanics generate good spin and consistency. Long lasting.
Very good.
Je m’habitue plutôt satisfait.
If you’re looking at Tenergy 05 but the high price and low durability deter you, this is a good alternative for most amateur players - from intermediate to advanced. It’s fast, spinny, and the topsheet feels soft, the ball sinks deep and there’s enough dwell time to control your shots. And it’s so easy to generate heavy topspin on BH. The short game is bouncy, but short serves are surprisingly good. Service from TT11 is top-notch as always.
The response is very quick and sensitive to small changes in strength and direction. It takes some time to get used to if you haven’t used something like this before. I still like it for my offense.
I ordered it as the advanced version of Xiom Vega X. I found it a little harder compared to Hexer Duro on BH. Sometimes used on FH when game-changing is required. Large throw angle, so trying to adjust cuts and pushes. Good for close table blocks, close pushes, counters, and backhand shots. Getting slightly difficult to place extreme backhand ball by chopping it from a mid-distance. But it’s only been 5 days I am playing with it, so I will overcome this difficulty by practicing. Trying to do BH opens, loops, and trying to place pushes close to the net (sharp push) as it’s going a little high but will manage as I go on practicing. It is a medium-hard rubber and has nice control.
Affordable version of the latest modern table tennis rubber generation. The performance is comparable to top-end rubbers that are much more expensive. Durability is very good - it doesn’t rely on factory-applied booster. Recently, the experience with Aurus Prime made me furious (it kept its initial characteristics for only about 10 training sessions after which it lost speed and spin significantly), but it is not going to happen with Vega X.
It had been a long journey to find a suitable rubber for my superfast Butterfly Primorac Carbon. I had tried many rubbers from various brands such as DHS Hurricane 3, 8, 8.80, Yinhe Big Dipper, Friendship Battle 2, Xiom Europe, Donic Bluefire M2. None of these felt great on the blade. They were either too soft like Xiom or too hard like the Chinese rubbers.
When I tried Xiom Vega, I said, “OK … This is what I need to pair my blade with.” The rubber just felt so good. The hardness of the sponge matches the hinoki surface in terms of feeling and dwelling. The control is great, blocking is a breeze, and counter-looping is just something that you want to do all the time. Xiom Vega X is the right rubber to tame the beast with. Bear in mind that even with this rubber, the set-up is still very fast. But again, you’ll get much more confidence with your shots than what someone normally struggles with other rubbers. If you’ve got Primorac Carbon and you’re looking for a grippy, dwelly, and long-lasting tensor rubber, then you can’t go wrong with Xiom Vega X.
My journey with rubber search ends here, and now harder work on my technical aspects of my game must be made and that will be next.
For the cost, this is unbeatable. Not the fastest, nor the spinniest, but more than good enough at both for someone like me starting out in the sport, needing solid gear that’s not beyond my wallet or abilities.
Qattiq lekin yaxshi nakkatlash.
En mi opinión, este caucho es muy bueno, me gusta mucho más que el Xiom Vega japonés.
Good and high-quality rubber.
The sponge is powerful, the top layer is elastic. I wouldn’t recommend this rubber for beginners.
For those who have a lot of strength, this is the one!
This rubber is a really good forehand rubber for intermediate players. I find myself extremely inclined to using my forehand and utilizing my backhand most of the time. However, this rubber has greatly improved my technique and confidence in using my forehand, especially considering how it’s quite good in terms of control, and helps you hit the ball with your own power.
It also offers quite a bit of spin that adds to the quality of the rubber. I would definitely recommend this rubber for a forehand player, as it helped me get out of my comfort zone of only using backhand.
For the price, one of the best offensive rubbers.
Mirshavkatga ham yoqdi-kun, 4 marta buyurtma berdim.
It is quite heavy and hard rubber. Good grip, high throw angle. For me, it is the best rubber in the Vega series because it has better spin, speed, and control, but Vega X is less spinny and slower than Fastarc G-1, MX-P, Tenergy.
It is a hard rubber with a high throw angle. The hardness of the sponge is similar to Vega Pro, but the control is much better. For me, Vega X has better control than Vega Japan. Very good for FH. Slower than Fastarc G-1. I am very happy.
72 грамма супер.
At such a price, a good attacking rubber.
I upgraded to these from Vega Japan. The X is significantly faster and has a lower arc. Once I got used to it, I think it’s easier for me to finish points sooner. Blocking is still good. However, it feels considerably heavier and the ball spends less time on your rubber, so you need to have more accurate timing and more strength in your wrist to make up for the weight. It is too soon to talk about durability as of now.
I have already praised this rubber, let’s see after how much time XIOM will spoil it, like it was with Vega Europe.
Хорошо на основаниях с карбоном, универсальная накладка.
Very good rubber, quite similar to Vega Pro but a bit faster with a little more spin. Very happy with this rubber.
I read a lot of reviews online before deciding to go with the Vega X for my forehand and the Vega Asia DF for my backhand. I have been using this setup now for the last month and am quite pleased. It particularly shines when I hit powerful shots. I get a great trajectory, low to the net, and falling back onto the table. Very good spin and attack. My short ball control is weak, and so I find the ball popping up higher on short serve receives; my fault though, not the rubbers. Very happy with the descriptions and service from TableTennis11. My order arrived 2 days ahead of schedule, the order was correct, the product was as represented, great experience!
This is a very good rubber, especially when the price is considered. It is a jack of all trades. That means it can do everything well but nothing exceptional. I would recommend it to intermediate-level players to get more stability and safety to their game. It is fairly easy to play with, and not much adjustment is needed. However, if you are looking for top-level performance, there are better options out there.
Pleasantly surprised by the Vega X. Coming from soft rubbers, this surely needs some time to adjust. I use it on my BH and it is very nice for punch blocking. High arc for hard rubber, but not so high compared to soft rubbers. I prefer softer rubber for opening on backspin.
Good price rubber. Quite hard. Grippy surface with a harder sponge, suitable for forehand and medium-flexible blade. With a hard blade, it delivers very dry and hard feelings. But nothing to complain about the pricing.
Great rubber, top sheet is slightly harder than previous Vegas and itself feels harder. Spin is just excellent. Sponge hardness similar to Vega Pro.
High spin rubbers are great…
I don’t care much about equipment. I bought this only because it’s supposed to be the next-gen Vega Pro, and I love playing with Vega Pro. This rubber is a bit faster than Vega Pro, but like Vega Pro, it’s a great rubber. It’s fast enough, spinny, and controllable. I like to generate speed by my own power and technique, so this rubber works for me.
Feeling hard, if you like high speed.
It’s okay.
