Composite/carbon
A very good blade! Very stable and controllable, with the feeling that there is almost no speed limit.
Spruce Zylon-Carbon (ZLC) is a relatively thick wood, therefore stiff. It has a Spruce Kiri Zylon-Carbon (ZLC) Spruce Spruce composition, making it a good offensive tree that is well controlled. The internal structure is composite, which makes it faster than what was written on average.
The surface is relatively hard, therefore 42 or 45 degree sponges go well with it. For hard sponges, 48-50 degrees requires good technique. In the ZLC category, it is well worth the price.
Nice work.
The blade has a great feel and a very large sweet spot. I find it to be very well balanced, not head-heavy as I have read. The range of speed is really good and linear.
KUNINGAS!!! One of the best original SZLC inner-fiber blades on the market (IMO). Polished GERMAN Craftsmanship. Best feel for me. The blade is well balanced and my favorite. Super nice blade with great characteristics, very enjoyable to play with, and can be as powerful as you want it to be (depending on rubbers used).
For me, the blade matches up very well with Tibhar Evolution MX-S Max on both sides (my favorite with a total weight of 199-200 grams, perfect weight for me). Provides excellent ball control if proper technique is used when delivering and receiving the ball. Great blade when opening up and creating a topspin rally. The balance between speed and control is astonishing.
The touch and feel of this blade are like no other, and the ease of BLOCKING is what makes this blade stand out. Great blade for counterattacking the ball with excellent control. Huge sweet spot with epic sound when powering the ball (music to your ears).
The flared handle feels very comfortable with or without soft grip tape (Iâm using Nittaku Soft Grip TapeâŚthe bestâŚfor a very secure grip). Beautiful blade of immense quality and top-notch craftsmanship.
For me, the WALDNER WC89 OFF blade performs better than any SZLC inner-fiber blade that Iâve used, and the price is very reasonable and well worth it. I like the Spruce, Spruce, Carbon Fleece Zylon, and Kiri combination.
The blade gives you the confidence of winning every point. Great offensive blade for modern table tennis. I give it 5 STARS and a 10 because it does what it is supposed to do in every category. SUPER NICE BLADE and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Tabletennis11 website has the best pricing for the Donic WALDNER WC89 OFF blade. The other two blades in the World Champion 89 Series are also very nice (Persson WC89 OFF+ and the Appelgren WC89 AR+).
I purchased this blade based on positive reviews highlighting its suitability for blockingâa crucial factor for me in blade selection. However, this blade exceeded my expectations, showcasing versatility beyond blocking. It offers a solid feel with excellent touch and also excels as an attacking blade. Despite its weight (92g), I found myself favoring attacking shots over blocking. Notably, this blade performs best with looping and driving strokes rather than smashing.
As mentioned by others, its handle is unique, boasting a fully rounded contour where the thumb rests. It offers exceptional comfort and fits like a glove. I can confidently rate its handle 10/10.
Overall, the Waldner World Champion 89 ranks among the finest blades I have owned. While it is not inexpensive, costing approximately 100 dollars, it remains significantly more affordable than comparable offerings from Butterfly or Joola.
I enthusiastically recommend this blade to attacking or all-around players. I am even considering purchasing a second one. I see no compelling reason to consider the faster Persson WC89 at this time.
Perfect wood for attacking play! Beautiful control! I recommend it for every attacking player.
The control and feeling of the blade are very good. The touch is soft, and the blade is firm. Itâs simply amazing!
Hi, can I use long pips rubber on this blade?
Donic Waldner Senso V1 is a 5-ply offensive blade with a combination of limba, ayous and kiri. With a weight of about 85-90 grams, it offers a good balance between speed and control. The limba outer plies provide a crisp and responsive feel, while the ayous core gives it a solid foundation. The kiri inner ply enhances the bladeâs flexibility, allowing for more control and touch.
Butterfly Zhang Jike ZLC is a high-performance 7-ply blade designed for aggressive play. It combines limba, hinoki, and ZL Carbon to deliver exceptional speed and power. The limba outer plies provide a crisp and direct feel, while the hinoki core enhances the bladeâs stability and control. The ZL Carbon layers increase the bladeâs stiffness, resulting in more power and a higher trajectory.
Nittaku Acoustic is a unique 5-ply blade made of limba, spruce, and ayous. With a weight of about 80-85 grams, it offers excellent control and a distinctive sound. The limba outer plies provide a responsive feel, while the spruce core enhances the bladeâs vibration and feedback. The ayous inner ply adds stability and durability to the blade.
Stiga Clipper Wood
Stiga Clipper Wood is a classic 5-ply blade made of limba, mahogany, and balsa. With a weight of about 85-90 grams, it offers a versatile combination of speed, control, and feeling. The limba outer plies provide a crisp and direct feel, while the mahogany core enhances the bladeâs stability and power. The balsa inner ply reduces the bladeâs weight, making it more maneuverable.
Tibhar Evolution MX-P is a 7-ply blade made of a combination of limba, ayous, and carbon. With a weight of about 85-90 grams, it offers a balanced blend of speed, control, and spin. The limba outer plies provide a crisp and responsive feel, while the ayous core gives it a solid foundation. The carbon layers enhance the bladeâs power and stiffness, resulting in more spin and control.
The craftsmanship of the blade is of exceptional quality, evident in the meticulous attention to detail and precise manufacturing. Each layer of wood is carefully selected and assembled to create a blade that is both durable and responsive.
The bladeâs balance is near perfect, allowing for effortless control and precise shot placement. The weight distribution is evenly distributed throughout the blade, which provides a comfortable and balanced feel in the hand.
The bladeâs performance is exceptional, delivering a combination of power, control, and spin. The blade generates ample power for attacking shots, while maintaining excellent control for defensive play. The bladeâs sweet spot is large, providing consistency and precision with every stroke.
Overall, this blade is a true masterpiece, crafted with the highest level of precision and attention to detail. Its exceptional performance and versatility make it a top choice for players of all levels, from beginners to professionals.
This is a fantastic blade with excellent feel and the ideal weight. I installed MXP Max on both sides, and it performs exceptionally well with remarkable speed and impressive control. Itâs the epitome of inner-fiber blades. Bravo to Donic for creating such a masterpiece. Iâm thrilled with it!
Tabletennis11 offers the most competitive pricing for this blade, along with exceptional customer service and meticulous packaging and shipping. They also provide discounts on their products. Definitely check them out!
The best blade I ever had, and I played with Butterfly, Yasaka, Yinhe, Stiga, Adidas and some more. I agree with all comments, blocking is out of this world. Mine weights 87 gr and I paired it with Nittaku H3 pro turbo orange FH 2mm and Nittaku Sieger PK50 BH 1.8mm (195gr): amazing setup. Short game is amazing, but it does not lack reactivity on strong shots or away from the table. I had to adjust my forehand and backhand tops a bit but Iâll get used to it soon. The sound is super nice and in general the paddle gives you enormous confidence because you know that if you have a very offensive opponent in front of you, you will be able to block everything he throws.
Very nice blade. Perfect sweet spot, very good control and feeling. No vibration at all, but you can feel the touch softly. Works well paired with Andro Rasanter R37 or R47. The only negative side is the handle. Itâs a bit too thin.
Very good racket in both game features and craftsmanship. I couldnât find a better-made racket; itâs a real craftsmanship! Small hands can find it thick, but I have carved it, and itâs perfect for normal hands. Fancy, too; excellent! I tried a lot of rubber, but the best for me was Gewo Nexxus EL Pro 50 forehand and Nittaku Fastarc G1 (black) backhand.
Very good quality racket for this price! I have two rackets out of this. I tried another way afterward but couldnât find a better one.
This is an excellent blade. Originally owned a Butterfly Innerforce ALC and was looking for a similar blade but with a bit more control. The larger sweet spot due to the Zylon layer certainly does its job. Although the blade is quite fast (similar to the Innerforce), it has a lot more control and gears. I am playing with Xiom Omega VII 2.0mm on Forehand and Yinhe Moon 2.0mm on the backhand.
Although the blade is fairly stiff, I am getting a reasonable amount of dwell time, which greatly helps to generate a lot of spin. Very good in the short game displaying tons of control and good at open-ups / 3rd ball attack. Deals with blocking very efficiently and good for looping away from the table. For smashing, it is a real demon, but somehow it still offers a lot of control. You will not be disappointed.
Perfect handle, perfect tempo, delicate and fine touch, awesome control, huge loops with epic sound. This blade definitely hits the standard of the most expensive butterfly blades. And the price is 23% of a Butterfly SZLC blade. Donât get fooled by the speed 9.2 atm, this blade is not that fast. It is nearly the same as Waldner Senso Ultra Carbon with a wider range of speed from ALL+ to OFF. This is my all-time best blade: an offensive blade with fine touch, works well with modern offensive and all-around rubbers, has a solid feel when hitting. A very decent attacking blade with outstanding control. Donât be scared of the head thickness, the handle is very comfortable and slim, you wonât notice it. Before that, I was fond of blades under 6 mm head thickness.
UPDATE 2017.MAY! I bought another for my second blade. Tested rubbers: Baracuda, Baracuda BS, Bluefire M1, M2, M3, MX-P, EL-P, FX-P, MAXXX 500. Despite being stiff, this blade has a very soft touch, which comes in handy when spinning the ball. Nearly every time, I get some compliments that the sound of my blade is music to the ears when I am looping. Works really well with hard rubbers, gives them a fine touch, so it is easier to fine brush some opening loops or to receive serves. My setup is M1 (FH) and M2 (BH).
The blade has a unique dynamic range, so it needs time to get used to. It is better than ALC blades, because it has better touch, more power when needed. It has less throw angle, which is unlucky in some situations but comes in handy when facing a looper. This blade has far enough power far from the table, yet it performs well close to the table, when hitting down the line shots. Serves are slow and spinny. J.O. Signed both of my blades! :).
This is a blade of immense quality. I have had top Butterfly blades, etc., but this is super.
The handle (ST) has an unusual shape. It tapers toward the head of the blade, giving the impression that your hand is âfallingâ into the top end of the grip. Additionally, it is relatively small in size, which may not suit users accustomed to thicker handles. This can make the blade feel somewhat flimsy.
Despite the uncomfortable handle, the blade itself is quite stiff, resulting in a lack of feel. Compared to the reviewerâs other 10 blades, the Waldner one ranked last in terms of preference. While it is well-made, it did not align with the reviewerâs preferences or playstyle.
If you prefer fast, light, and hard blades with minimal feel, this blade may be suitable for you to try.
Pros: Fast and very controllable, the handle is very comfortable for big hands.
Cons: The head is heavy, the weight is approximately 90 grams.
This blade is really nice. It has a good balance of speed and control, and itâs very well-made. The handle is comfortable to hold, and the blade itself is very durable. Iâve been using it for a few months now, and Iâve never had any problems with it. I would definitely recommend this blade to anyone looking for a good all-around blade.
Very nice new Donic blade with two outer plies of spruce, one Zylon/Carbon and Kiri.
I fitted two MX-P in max. Itâs a very good looping blade. Compared with the Legend Carbon, it has a nice softer touch, is a bit slower, and has a bit higher throw.
It has less vibration than the Legend Carbon, but you always feel where and how you hit the ball. I like it more than the Boll ALC because of its softer touch. But I like more the ST handle of the ALC or the Legend Carbon, which is the same.
If you like powerful topspins, this is my recommendation.
Perfect blade for blocking. Blocking is effortless. Very good control. The drawback is the flare handle, which is quite slim on the grip but wide on the bottom.
