The best blade I have played with yet, however, it is also the most expensive at over 200 euros. Here in Europe, it is difficult to find this blade new. Used blades may be available occasionally if you are lucky.

I like the power of this blade, especially the backhand side using Rakza 9. It’s very powerful and spinny.

I have played with Bf gergely, bf michael maze, bf jun mizutani, bf timo ball alc, and some others. All these blades are good, but Xiom Vega Tour is different. It is brilliant. I have been using it for the past year.

My first impression after 5 training sessions and a tournament (~9h playtime):

For three years, I have played with TB ALC, a great blade. I enjoy trying new equipment and have tested numerous blades (JM ZLC, JM SZLC, ZJ ALC, SAMSONOV FORCE PRO, ADIDAS HYPERTOUCH, Xiom Vega Pro, ADIDAS FIBERTEC POWER, TB ZLF, and more). However, none of them have impressed me enough to switch.

The Xiom Vega Tour is a different story. I believe it to be the perfect blade for my style. Everything is easy to play, from short game to soft and hard topspins. The precision is exceptional, making it excellent for blocking. It feels comfortable in the short game, yet when you hit the ball hard or smash, it becomes fast and brutal for the opponent.

In short games, it is controllable like an ALL blade (its control is remarkable for a fast off blade). However, when blocking or smashing hard, it performs at an OFF+ level without excessive catapult effect. From any distance, I can execute aggressive shots. I am delighted to have discovered this exceptional blade from XIOM. If you seek speed and control superior to the TB ALC, I highly recommend trying the Xiom Vega Tour.

I use Xiom Vega Pro in max thickness on both my forehand and backhand. For me, it is an unbeatable combination. I made the switch and am thrilled with it. Enjoy!

Paragraph 1:

I have recently purchased a Vega Tour blade and, while I have yet to play with it, I have concerns about its quality. The Vega Tour is my fourth Xiom blade, and my previous experiences with the V1 Quad, Zetro Quad, and Hyabusa Zxi have been exceptional in terms of quality and craftsmanship. These blades, manufactured in China, showcase superior workmanship. When I read the specifications of the Vega Tour and found its playing specs to be superior to my Zxi, I decided to make the purchase. However, I was disappointed to find that the Vega Tour, manufactured in Korea, Xiom’s native country, falls short of my expectations.

Paragraph 2:

Despite the impressive packaging, I believe Xiom has made some missteps in design. The outer layers of the Vega Tour are made from Hinoki, a delicate wood. Xiom provides protective foils on both sides of the blade for reuse after applying rubber. However, these foils are secured with adhesive dots, and when I removed one foil, it tore off several splinters of wood. I have never encountered such an issue with my Chinese Xiom blades. Additionally, the Vega Tour features aluminum handle inserts that are not flush with the handle surfaces. This is unacceptable for a blade of this price range. I highly recommend sealing the blade before gluing on rubbers to prevent further damage.

Paragraph 3:

After 9 months of playing with the Vega Tour, I must admit that despite my initial concerns, I am satisfied with its performance. With Fastarc G-1 on the FH side and Adidas P7 on the BH, the blade offers effortless looping and excellent blocking capabilities. Compared to my Hyabusa Zxi, it is slightly slower, but it compensates with superior dwell time and control. It handles short chops and drops effectively while also allowing for aggressive play from further back from the table.

Played with Zetro Quad, BtY Garaydia ZLC, but this one is full of control. A bit slower than Zetro and Garaydia, but the ball drops everytime on the table! Spin is even better than BTY. Till now, I never seen a blade like this — consistency 10, control 10, speed 8.5 (but really, really). Maybe too pricy, but comparing with Butterfly — much, much better. I have Vega pro rubbers (my recommendation) on it. With Omega IV, V pro, will be even more speed?

Update: Now playing with Omega V tour on both sides. Seems I will never change this combo. Worth every penny.

Update: Slower significantly than Zetro, so I changed rubbers. FH T64 2.1, BH Vega tour max. Now, I attack like a serious player😊.

Update: Never seen so consistent a blade — turned back to Omega V tour — fh, Vega Euro DF — bh. Amazing…

This blade offers amazing control for its speed. When paired with Tenergry 05 Max on both sides, it provides an incredible feel, dwell time, and exceptional performance in blocking and short play.

It’s recommended to use hard rubbers with a high throw angle, such as Tenergry 05, as this blade has a low trajectory and a soft feel due to the Hinoki wood. Xiom has created an outstanding product with this blade.

#9 — November 2016

Solid off+ blade that has the ability to play like an all+ blade. Xiom has made something truly different and unique. Vega Tour has high control, high dwell, high throw, and explosive speed when you need it. Be careful not to select rubbers that are too fast unless speed is your game. You must give this blade 4-6 hours to understand and get used to its character. It is not recommended for beginners at all.

Compared to the Vega Pro blade, the V Tour is faster with a slightly harder feel. Both blades have high flex when playing away from the table. Speed is the only major upgrade of the V Tour from the VPro.

Edit: The speed is too much for me. When things heat up, I start missing the table. I think very slow or Chinese rubber will be a perfect match to balance this beast.

1848 rating. Ex professional tennis player. FH Xiom Omega V Asia and BH Xiom Omega V Tour. Came from Tibhar Stratus Power Wood.

This blade is the real deal. The feel is supreme you feel connected to the ball Its sublime. The sound is great. feel and control are the main things you notice but then you realize its fast. Counter looping is a breeze. i can attack anything from behind the table. This beats out the bty zj alc in feel and consistency…

This blade is not as great as many people believe.

The handle has a lot of vibration, and the weight balance is not optimal, possibly due to its large sweet spot of 152 x 158 mm. The dwell time is not impressive despite the hard feel (even with the Hinoki surface), and the rotation is superior on Butterfly Blades. For instance, while Xiom Vega Euro produces no vibration, Vega Tour exhibits significant vibration, which is unexpected for Xiom’s most expensive blade. I have already sold my Vega Tour.

In my opinion, the best blades are Butterfly blades with a medium feel, as they eliminate vibration through the use of composite materials.

If you are looking for a blade with speed and more control than the Bty ALCs, you should try this one.

Guys, please feel free to check my vega tour video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ferrHbkbjc.

And BTW, I’ve completed its review in Chinese if u can read it…http://hemuhemuninjadog.blogspot.tw/2016/04/xiom-vega-tour-blade-review.html.

Agree with sd412, I like everything about this blade regarding playing. It is truly a 10. My only criticisms are that I prefer a finer finish on the handle. You can feel the grains in the wood, although some may prefer this. Also, seal the blade! I did not, and when I switched out a sheet, it pulled a tiny splinter of wood off as well.

#15 — February 2016

I have played many top blades already, starting with Timo Boll Spirit, Viscaria, Garaidya ZLC, Treiber Z, Ligna F.R., Rosskopf Emotion, Carbonado 145+190, Boll ALC, and many more. However, the Vega Tour cannot be matched by any other blade I have used in any aspect! It is genuinely fast, and while there may be some faster blades, it is more than fast enough to hit winners without much effort. I still don’t have any problems keeping the ball short and low over the table. The amount of spin produced is very, very good, and almost no matter what I do, the ball always seems to find its way onto the table! Even with slower blades, I overhit way more often! I am currently playing with Omega V Asia on the forehand and Bomb Talent OX on the backhand. I don’t even feel like needing to change or improve anything since I am playing at my best now. I highly recommend the Vega Tour for anyone who wants a stiff blade with outstanding feeling, dwell, and control while maintaining high speed. Update: I just tested the Hurricane Long 5 and the Jun Mizutani, which are nice blades too, but I will definitely stick to the Vega Tour. It has a crisper feeling at every shot and seems to be way more versatile. It is definitely the best blade available at the moment for anyone who wants to play aggressive shots from every distance while maintaining the option to play high-quality touch balls too.

I’ve only played with this blade for one session, but I’m already impressed by its speed and control. I’m also very happy with the amount of spin I can generate on serves and loops. I’ve paired it with Tenergy 05FX 2.1mm rubber, and I highly recommend this combination. It’s a fantastic blade!
