Whoa, Nellie! This blade is the cat’s meow! Paired with G-1 on both sides, you can’t miss! Excellent looping ability and blocking are where this blade shines. Did I mention feel? Yes, this blade is an extension of the hand! Pricey? Yes. Nittaku? What do you expect?
Blade Review: High Performance with Exceptional Control
With a weight of 87 grams, this blade provides an exceptional feel for the game. When paired with DHS Skyline 3 Provincial 40’ (one layer booster) on the forehand and R50 on the backhand, it offers excellent feedback and low, pleasant vibrations. Serving and pushing become effortless, enabling precise shot placement.
Touch shots such as flips, short dead/spinny balls, and various variations are executed with accuracy and aggression. Blocking is made effortless, with incoming spin having little to no impact on the player. Counter driving and spinning are consistent and powerful, allowing for versatile play styles. Spin creation and power shots are at the player’s command, with the blade offering a wide range of gears to suit different playing styles.
Loop kills, balloon loops, and counters are all effective and spinny, with the blade’s responsiveness ensuring precision and control. Mistakes are primarily the result of player error, not the blade’s performance. It can cater to various playstyles, from the slow and controlled chopping style to the powerful and aggressive looping style of Ma Long. The consistency and reliability of the gears, combined with the moderate pace of basic shots, make it beginner-friendly while also providing ample challenge for experienced players.
Overall, this blade offers exceptional control and versatility, making it a valuable asset for any table tennis enthusiast. Its high-performance capabilities and ease of use make it a worthwhile investment for players seeking to elevate their game.
The greatest blade ever.
Sound: Control: Spin: Grip: One con: High throw.
Very good blade. It has superb control and good speed. The grip is very comfortable in my hand. It is a good product from Nittaku.
Excellent Product with High Quality
Mine weighs 89 grams with a flared handle. For my forehand, I use DHS H8 40 degrees with 2.1 mm thickness. On my backhand, I use BTY Rozena. The handle grip is comfortable, although it’s slightly larger than DHS or TMB series handles.
Forehand Performance
The forehand is an exceptional spin generator. It enables me to topspin every shot and perform loop-kills effortlessly.
Backhand Performance
The backhand is suitable for blocking, punching, and chopping with precise placement.
Speed
While not super fast, the blade is very fast. I rate its speed 9.5/10 compared to FangBo B2X. It’s faster than TMB ALC/Viscaria.
Feel
The contact feel is firm, but the blade is elastic. This gives my forehand shots the combination of speed and spin that leads to a “kick effect” on the ball, causing it to change its trajectory after hitting the opposite side of the table.
Weight Consideration
Heavier blades (over 90 grams) tend to be head-heavy, which is not my preference. Fortunately, my blade weighs 88-89 grams and feels comfortable to use.
Wow! Nittaku is an amazing manufacturer!
Nittaku Quality…what more to say? They make some of the highest quality table tennis blades. With a wide range to choose from, there is a blade out there for almost every player.
Whether you are looking for a blade that is fast and offensive or a blade that is more controlled and defensive, Nittaku has something for you. Nittaku blades are made with high-quality materials and craftsmanship, so you can be sure that you are getting a blade that will last.
Here are a few of the most popular Nittaku blades:
* Nittaku Acoustic Carbon: This blade is made with a combination of carbon and wood, giving it a great balance of speed and control. * Nittaku Hurricane Pro 60: This blade is made with a limba outer ply and a carbon core, giving it a fast and powerful feel. * Nittaku Kiwami: This blade is made with a combination of balsa and carbon, giving it a great combination of feel and power.
After a year of use, I’ve found that this blade is not particularly fast. However, when it comes to spin and control, it really excels. To achieve a tight game, it’s necessary to pair it with a fast and hard rubber. For my forehand, I use the Butterfly T5 hard or Andro R53. For my backhand, I use the Andro R50. This combination has been perfect for me.
What can I say after my first training session? I’ve returned to table tennis after 20 years and I used to play with a Klampar Tamca 5000 blade. However, with the introduction of plastic balls, my old blade was no longer suitable for me, so I switched to a TB ALC. I played with the TB ALC for half a year and still wasn’t sure if it was the right blade for my style. After reading some reviews, I decided to try the NBF ST.
Firstly, the blade weighs 92 grams. It’s not very fast but it’s not slow either. It’s slightly slower than the Timo Boll ALC. It has very good control. In my opinion, it’s a good blade for players who play close to the table and at mid-distance.
After several training sessions, I can confidently say that this is a very good blade. It’s not cheap, but it’s worth every penny. IMHO, it’s a better blade than the TB ALC. It offers better control and speed, and it doesn’t have any vibrations.
It’s a thing of beauty. I played with Acoustic for about a year using 2mm tibhar MXS on backhand and 2mm MXP on forehand. With BF, I have better control at the net, on blocks and I can keep the ball shorter and hit flat backhand better. Overall a big, immediate improvement in my game.
The speed on smashes with MXP BF is lower than Acoustic because the contact is not as springy. I suppose better spin, but the MXP was very springy and the MXS had no power on flat hit and was also springy. Well worth the money…
This blade is an incredible spin machine. It possesses exceptional feel for a composite blade, surpassing even some of my most cherished all-wood favorites. However, this blade is not suitable for beginners or even some experienced players. If you are playing with the Barwell Fleet for the first time, you may not initially appreciate its capabilities. However, with time and repeated use, you will unlock its true potential and discover its astonishing versatility.
This blade allows for seamless transitions between slow and explosive gameplay, and its high throw with multiple gears makes it incredibly dynamic. Surprisingly, despite its high throw, blocks remain low and swift. This unconventional combination usually requires two different blades, making the Barwell Fleet a truly remarkable product.
Adapting to the unique plys and behavior of the Barwell Fleet is essential, especially if you are transitioning from soft or medium-hardness blades. Despite the initial adjustment, the result is well worth the effort. It is precisely this distinct character that divides opinions, with some players embracing the Barwell Fleet and others finding it less to their liking.
I don’t know why I wasted my 4 years before the day I first touched this perfect blade. I used to play with some 729 rackets, Butterfly Zhang Jike ALCs, LongVs, and Timo Boll ALCs. I used to buy 3 Timo Boll ALCs because I thought that it was the best blade in the world. And one day I had the chance to try this blade. I sold all three Timo Boll blades at once.
Now I just keep this one. That’s enough for me.
Barwell Fleet: - Very easy to counterattack against under spin - The control is unbelievable. I can clearly feel the smallest impact of the ball on my racket. - The speed: At first when I used this blade to hit the ball softly, I thought that the speed was low. But when I loop with more power, the ball goes surprisingly fast. I think its speed is not lower than that of the Timo Boll ALC. - The Spin: This is really a blade for spin fans. I love spin and this blade makes it easy to put a lot of spin on the ball. - Block: This blade with a huge sweet spot and a good feel helps me block easily in both passive and active situations.
Conclusion: I hope I will stick with this blade for many years to come. I don’t want to waste my money and time on changing blades and rubbers anymore.
Decent speed, good feeling in the hand. However, it is not worth the price.
The Barwell Fleet blade is crafted with exceptional quality and workmanship. It offers a balanced speed, not overly fast but providing superb control. The blade construction conveys a noticeable sensation of the high-quality wood used.
The handle of the Barwell Fleet stands out for its ergonomic design and aesthetic appeal, ensuring a comfortable grip. This blade represents Nittaku’s high-end offerings.
When paired with hard and fast rubbers, the Barwell Fleet blade truly shines, complementing the player’s style and enhancing performance.
It took me a long time to write this review because I didn’t want to write anything without having really tested this blade. I’m used this for more than 1 years straight 3 hours a day. I am a novice in the sport and I bought this blade using this website to decide which should I buy. At the time this blade was selected as 1st on review as Best Control.
So I bought this blade thinking she’d have an excellent control, but she doesn’t have. She is a very fast and bounce blade, the Catapult effect is huge and the ball comes out of the rubber very fast.
I’m not saying that this blade is bad. Most definitely is not a beginner’s wood is a wood for advanced players, used various types of rubber soft, medium and hard. Viscaria, Timo Boll ALC, Timo Boll Spirite, are slower blades. In this way I will be following up with one of them.
Btw, Barwell Fleet have a perfect construction and a premium finish. Don’t vibrate. My conclusion, it’s a sensational blade but not for me.
I have the complete set of Barwell Fleet blades, including FL, ST, and Cpen. I specifically ordered the Cpen blade from China.
After experimenting with over 20 rubbers, I have found that Adidas P7, R6 max, Nittaku Renanos Hold, Xiom Sigma I Europe, Donic Desto Bigslam, and Victas Limber v>01 work best as my FH. I use them in combination with Nittaku Hammond Pro Beta or Adidas R6 with a 2mm sponge as my BH.
This blade is highly recommended for fans of Nittaku.
This blade offers excellent control, allowing for precise ball placement. It can adapt to varying playing styles, providing both slow and fast gameplay when necessary. The blade’s versatility makes it suitable for all playing distances, including close to the table, mid-distance, and far distance. Its build quality is exceptional, ensuring durability and reliability.
Amazing blade! If you are a beginner or intermediate player as I am, it may become very fast and uncontrollable. First, I tried to use it with Donic M1 on forehand and Donic M2 on backhand, and it was too fast for me. But it may be a good choice for high-level players. For intermediate players, match it with medium-soft, high control, high spin rubbers (Rakza7 Soft, Donic JP03, etc.). Then you will have a lethal weapon.
I think this blade has the closest feel to an all-wood blade with a composite layer. If you stick it with a hard rubber, you have to be careful about your spin moves because it basically teleports the ball to the other side of the table. But don’t panic; it still has a great level of control.
I’m using it with Andro Powergrip Max on both sides. It feels a bit heavy (straight grip with rubbers: 200 g. w/o rubbers: 88 g., flared grip is +2 g.). But I love its lightning-like blocks and beautiful long spins.
Even though it’s a stiff class blade, short loops are no problem with precise timing and technique. The price can be a little disturbing, but this handsome guy is really worth every penny. Best quality craftsmanship I’ve ever seen.
The blade’s construction features a stiff wood core, but during gameplay, you do not perceive this stiffness. The presence of carbon fiber enhances control without being overly noticeable. The overall feel resembles that of a pure wood blade, providing a comfortable and sensitive touch with a hint of vibration that aids in precision.
Although classified as a medium-fast blade, it exhibits exceptional power in looping, smashing, and driving strokes while maintaining excellent control. This attribute makes the blade suitable for offensive playstyles that prioritize both power and precision.
From my experience with various blades, including the Zjk Alc, Timo Boll Alc, Donic Ovtcharov, Hurricane Long 3, and Pter Korbel, this particular blade stands out as my preferred choice. It combines the control of the Pter Korbel with the speed that falls between the Dima and Boll Alc blades. With its exceptional balance, this blade empowers players to execute aggressive shots with confidence and accuracy.
The best blade I have played with. I used to play with INF ZLC and thought its control was good. Barwell Fleet (BF) really surprised me with its short game control and power far away from the table. I have owned several BF blades of various weights and they all play great. It is sad to see someone rated this blade at a miserable 6/10.
The best control ply I have ever used. Thanks Nittaku for this. It’s good for both topspin and has the best control for all types of shorts. It has a great feel.
Fh-Dhs blue sponge hurricane NATIONAL VERSION Bh-Tenergy-05
Now my topspin became like SEA WAVES with good bounce, but previously in Xiom rubber’s I didn’t feel that spin bounce. However, at the same time, the control is also very good, I feel very good with both the rubber and the blade.
This is the classic and the best blade in Nittaku.
For more than 1 and a half years, I’m using this blade. It has very good performance and is mainly used to vary the spins. It also has the best control in blocks and power blocks too, receiving and servicing, and great control for short push and tapping short balls.
If you know everything in the game but are losing without the best blade, then this will be your best choice.
Overrated and overpriced. I bought this blade nine months ago and have tried five different rubbers on it, but none of them have worked for me. The bat is always head-heavy and not well-balanced, which costs a lot of control. At least in my case, the sweet spot was normal and not larger than average.
I’ve recently switched to a blade from Butterfly, and what a difference it’s made! It’s a relief to be able to control the ball again.
In summary, I’m very disappointed with the Barwell Fleet. If it hadn’t been so expensive, I would have disposed of it much sooner.
Used this blade for a while and felt that what I gained in speed, I more than lost in control. This blade is really good at producing heavy loops, but not so much with softer, strafing the ball type variety. It also excels in close to the net game (touch) as well as smashing. Guess you can say it has many gears, but it wasn’t the right blade for me. I prefer a blade with a bit more dwell and topspin diversity.
Fantastic blade - a true amalgamation of woodiness, great feel, control, and power.
While it is not bouncy (offering great control in short game), it is powerful - more than the Viscaria / TB-ALC.
Topspins with this blade are very heavy - more than with regular Barwell (so I guess the glass fiber must contribute in some way).
As it does not have a pure carbon layer, speed / power varies with blade weights. The ones over 89g are especially powerful.
Purchased this blade for my mother, paired with Andro Rasant 2.0mm FH and Fastarc S1 BH max. The blade weighed in at 85.8g and measured 6.15mm in thickness.
Upon initial inspection, it was evident that the craftsmanship was of high quality. The wings were lightly sanded, and the blade surface was well-finished. The walnut exterior veneer added an aesthetically pleasing touch. To enhance its durability, a thin coat of polyurethane was applied, bringing the weight up to 86.1g.
During a recent four-hour play session, the blade performed exceptionally well. Its speed was comparable to the T-11+, complemented by an equally impressive level of control (no offense intended to Nittaku fans). The standout feature, however, was the significantly increased spin generation capability, which compensated for a perceived weakness in the T-11+.
Based on these observations, I would rate the blade as follows: Speed: 9.2; Control: 9.2; Overall: 9.3.
I recently acquired a new Barwell Fleet table tennis blade. Upon placing the blade on a flat surface, I noticed a slight unevenness. The surface exhibited a concave curvature on one side and a convex curvature on the opposite side. If I were to press down on one side of the blade, the opposing side would lift up approximately 1 millimeter. In contrast, my Viscaria blade does not exhibit this characteristic. Both blades are brand new and have never been adhered to any rubber. I am curious as to whether this is a common occurrence with table tennis blades.
This blade is absolutely awesome. I use Barwell Fleet with ST Handle, and the feel and control are perfect without reducing the speed at all. I can feel the slow stroke and give the nitro boost when I stroke fast.
I combine this blade with FH tibhar evolution EL-P and BH FX-P, and it works magically to improve all my strokes and blocks as well. The sensation of little vibration of this blade gives me a feel for each of my strokes, and I like it.
Japan-quality craftsmanship shines in this masterpiece. It offers unbelievably soft play for short games and delicate touches. Yet, with controlled force, it transforms into a lightning-fast racket. This exceptional quality comes at a premium, but as the adage goes, “Quality has always cost its equivalent.” In this case, it’s perfectly balanced, making it an investment that will elevate your gameplay.
The NBF blade is a top-rated choice for table tennis enthusiasts due to its exceptional capabilities, particularly for looping on both sides. It offers a balance of speed and control, making it ideal for mid-paced play.
A blade with very good control. Pay attention to the handle (I have big hands and I did not get accustomed to it). Maximum power with Tenergy 05. I do not recommend it for beginners. Exorbitant price.
One of the best blades I have ever used! Just a little too expensive.
At first glance, this 7-plywood blade with composite material has a medium-hard feel. Top quality, but a little pricey!
Speed/spin characteristics: Very good blade with medium-fast speed and high spin! Don’t be fooled by the hard feel—it produces much more spin than any other blades of similar hardness! Very good for lifting backspin balls and chopping topspins! Great control, very large sweet spot!
My review is too long for this box, so it’s in the discussion column below.
Whatever you enjoy in Innerforce ZLC and Timo Boll ZLC, you will find it all here in this blade. It offers incredible control and consistency, along with a noticeably large sweet spot.
I placed the blade in my right hand, and it felt like an extension of myself. It offers an exceptional range of gears, allowing for seamless transitions from soft and slow to explosive and powerful shots in an instant.
This blade is very stiff, with very good control and an excellent feeling. It is rated as an OFF- or OFF blade, and it is definitely worth every penny.
Best blade I ever had! It’s slightly faster than the BTY Primorac EX, but it has such a beautiful feel! The quality is also superb. It’s a real topspin monster!
I’m a blades collector. I have used over 100 different blades of almost all brands. This is the best one! It has super quality (the best blade ever!) and a perfect balance in speed and control. For the forehand, I use TIBHAR 1Q. For the backhand, I use ADIDAS Tenzone FX. It’s a looping machine. It’s much better than Ludeack Fleet and Tenor.
92g FL is a very good blade for an offensive playing style. It is a little bit head heavy with modern rubber, but it has a great feeling and control. It is nicely crafted by Nittaku.
